IGI vs GIA —
Understanding Diamond
Certification
Every Raul Diamond ships with an independent grading certificate from IGI or GIA — the two most trusted diamond laboratories in the world. Your certificate is your proof. It verifies exactly what you're buying — cut, colour, clarity, carat, and origin — independently and permanently. Here is everything you need to know.
IGI & GIA — Explained
Institute
The world's leading laboratory for lab-grown diamond certification. Uses the same 4 C's grading system as all major labs — issuing detailed, consistent reports accepted globally by retailers, insurers, and appraisers. IGI grades more lab-grown diamonds than any other lab in the world.

Your Certificate
What Each Part of Your Certificate Means
Report Number
A unique identifier for your diamond. Verify independently at igi.org or gia.edu.
Shape & Cutting Style
The shape of your diamond — Round Brilliant, Oval, Emerald, and so on.
Measurements
Exact dimensions in millimetres — length × width × depth.
Carat Weight
Precise weight to two decimal places. One carat = 0.2 grams.
Colour Grade
Position on the D–Z scale. D is colourless; G–J is near-colourless and excellent value.
Clarity Grade
From FL (flawless) to I3 (included). Inclusions are mapped in a diagram on the report.
Cut Grade
Rounds only. Excellent to Poor. Cut is the most important factor in brilliance.
Polish & Symmetry
Surface finish and facet alignment quality. Excellent in both = maximum light return.
Fluorescence
How strongly the diamond glows under UV. Most stones have none or faint fluorescence.
Origin
"Laboratory Grown" — confirming your diamond's ethical and fully traceable origin.
